Prerequisites
This course is for adult individuals who are not disqualified from possessing a firearm as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law and are of good repute and possess defensive pistol skills presented in the NRA Basics of Personal Protection In The Home Course. Participants must also understand the basic legal concepts relating to the use of firearms in self-defense, and must know and observe not only general gun safety rules, but also those safety principles that are specific to defensive situations. Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite knowledge, skills, and attitudes by producing an NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course Certificate, or by passing the pre-course evaluation.

Overview - 4.5 Hours
Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. The course is a complete guide to understanding conflict avoidance and situational awareness; home security and home defense; handgun, shotgun and AR-15 basics; shooting fundamentals; the physiology of violent encounters; the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath); and a complete guide on gear, gadgets, and ongoing training
Details
This course covers the knowledge, skills, and attitude required to ethically, legally, and morally carry a firearm for the purpose of self defense. This is a classroom based training, and will not include handling any live ammunition in the classroom. Students may bring firearms to use for practice exercises but will not be allowed to open cases until instructed to so so by instructors.
Students who successfully complete the course will receive a completion certificate. This course does not satisfy any CCW requirements. Additional training is required.
Students may concealed carry during class but MUST notify staff that they are armed.

Required Equipment
Almost all handguns and pistols are welcomed. If you are shooting 22.LR please make sure you bring High Velocity rounds. Students will need 100 Rounds of ammunition, and at least 1 magazine if you are using a mag fed firearm.
3 Magazines + Magazine Holder
Hearing protection and Eye protections is required. Pistol and Equipment Rentals are available if requested ahead of time.
A holster is required for this course, holster must be a solidly made holster. (Any holster that collapses upon itself and holsters made of soft flexible nylon will not be acceptable)
For this course only strong side outside or inside the waistband (OWB or IWB) holster is acceptable. No other methods of carry will be approved. Strong side means, holster is worn on the right side for a right handed student.
Level I Ammo – Approximately 100 rounds
Level II Ammo – Approximately 125 rounds
